Sleep Health Screenings

We screen all of our patients for sleep related breathing problems. The screening is a questionnaire that the patient completes. If we find the patient is high risk for sleep related breathing problems we recommend a complimentary non-invasive airway evaluation that we do in office.

Sleep apnea is when the muscles that control the upper airway relax, some people begin to snore. When the airway becomes completely blocked and the person temporarily stops breathing, this is an episode of Obstructive sleep apnea. If you or your bed partner snores, stops breathing or gasps for air in their sleep, is always tired with low energy level, and/or overweight we encourage you to speak to them about being screened. Sleep apnea is serious and highly under diagnosed. Recent research shows snoring and sleep apnea are associated with many serious conditions. Left untreated, they are contributing risk factors for high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, diabetes, depression, and ADHD in children.
